Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8:30-5:00PM

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Foundation Manager reports directly to the Director of Development and Volunteer Engagement and is responsible for enhancing funding sources for the Health System by developing and maintaining a sustainable and effective grant program, as well as managing campaign and development initiatives. The Foundation Manager is a key member of the development team and acts as a liaison between SGMC and donor agencies and Foundations. He/she is responsible for researching, preparing, submitting, and managing grant and campaign proposals and reports that support SGMC’s goals and meet donors/grantor’s guidelines and criteria. This person serves as the primary grant and foundation proposal writer, manages funder relationships, ensures compliance with grant regulations, manages grant databases, and Foundation campaign projects and development timelines. The Foundation Manager also works closely with SGMC’s finance team to work within the annual budget, reconcile monthly financials, manage documents and deadlines, tracks grantee results, and much more. He/she will work closely with the VP and Chief Development Officer to maintain and build relationships with funders and other strategic partners on a local, state and federal level. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in business or a related discipline is required. 
  • 3+ years of experience in fundraising, grant writing or grants management is preferred. 
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Experience with donor development/CRM software systems is a plus. 
  • Familiarity and experience working with government agencies at the state and federal level and private Foundations is preferred. 
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, improve and create departmental systems in order to manage processes and procedures is required. 
  • Must have demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills experience as well as superior editing skills, including ability to convey complex information in a clear and impactful manner to a diverse audience. 
  • Must be able to prioritize duties and work autonomously with minimal supervision, well organized and efficient. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and independent judgment required. 
  • High energy level, pleasant and self-assured personality traits, and excellent customer service skills required. 
  • A positive attitude and ability to build positive relationships with volunteers, donors, and grantor agency representatives are essential. 
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION 

Physical demands include, but are not limited to periods of standing and walking, both inside and outside the hospital, occasional deliveries throughout the facility and occasional lifting of materials. Working conditions may not provide outside light, and temperature is kept at a medium level.
