South Georgia Medical Center is a 418-licensed bed non-profit health system comprised of a main campus in Valdosta, Georgia and three satellite campuses; SGMC Berrien Campus, SGMC Lanier Campus, and SGMC Outpatient Plaza, also known as SGMC Health. We serve 400,000 residents in a 15-county medical service area covering South Georgia and North Florida. We have a renowned open-heart surgery program, thriving comprehensive Pearlman Cancer Center, a satellite clinic of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center and other advanced services normally found only in metropolitan hospitals.

· SGMC Health is pleased to announce due to demand we have an exceptional opportunity for an energetic newly trained and team oriented Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Presently, we have two Cardiothoracic Surgeons providing best in class quality healthcare to our community.

Position Description:

· Full-time, permanent, hospital employed position

· Salary guarantee period and excellent earning potential based on productivity

· Cardiothoracic Clinic is located on SGMC’s main campus in Valdosta, GA

· The group runs structural heart program (TAVR, TMVR & Mitra Clip), and aortic surveillance clinics

· Call is 1:3

· 2 Dedicated Heart ORs with Dedicated Heart OR Team

· 1 Endovascular Hybrid Suite

· Dedicated APPs

· Excellent referral pattern with cardiology groups

· No competition in the community

Qualifications:

· Board eligible/certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery

· Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Georgia

· Experience with the EPIC is a plus.
