POSITION SUMMARY
● Has twenty-four hour accountability for the overall operation of the Invasive Cardiology department.
● Ensures the delivery of quality patient care through proper implementation of the patient care process for all age groups served in the department.
● Coordinates department based quality assessment and improvement efforts.
● Manages department within established budgetary parameters.
● Serves as the primary liaison between department and other members of the healthcare team.
● Maintains an atmosphere which ensures South Georgia Medical Center’s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies and standards are consistently met.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
● Education, licensure and certification. ⚬ Current RN or RT license in the State of Georgia. ⚬ Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare area strongly preferred. ⚬ Current CPR (C) certification.
● Four (4) years experience in nursing or associated healthcare field, including: ⚬ Relevant clinical experience required. ⚬ Leadership, supervision, and/or management experience. ● Strong clinical skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care.
● Ability to lead and develop others individually and as a team, and to be an effective team member.
● Demonstrated ability to assess and adapt to new situations, critically think and analyze, utilize problem solving techniques, and set priorities.
● Demonstrated skill in verbal, non-verbal and behavioral communication.
● Demonstrated current knowledge of patient care, leadership, and management principles.
● Ability to operate clinical equipment, and office equipment such as computers, telecommunications devices, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION Works in acute care hospital, predominately daytime, weekday, with flexibility to work all shifts as needed for patient rounds, staff rounds, and support of department. Considerable sitting, standing, stooping, bending, lifting (in excess of fifty (50) lbs.), pushing objects (e.g., carts, beds). May occasionally require long, irregular or flexible work hours. Likely to be exposed blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases. Mental efforts to assess, plan and make or recommend decisions in complex environment.
