Schedule: Full Time, 7on/7off, 3-11

POSITION SUMMARY 

  • Provides clerical functions on assigned unit and shift. 
  • Facilitates communication processes. 
  • Transcribes physician’s orders. 
  • Maintains medical records. 
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and policies and procedures of South Georgia Medical Center. 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Education and Certification: ⚬ High school graduate or GED preferred 
  • Previous clerical, computer, receptionist or medical office assistant and typing experience strongly preferred. 
  • High degree of concentration and accuracy to detail. 
  • Strong customer service focus. 
  • Ability to function as part of a team, meeting patient and team goals and needs accurately and in expected time frame. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and in timely manner, considering priorities appropriately.
 WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION 

Works primarily in moderate to fast-paced hospital setting. Generally assigned to consistent shift and unit but may be required to be temporarily re-assigned to meet organizational needs. Requires minimal lifting (possibly 10-15 lbs). Substantial sitting at keyboard/computer, reception desk. Uses general office equipment in performance of duties, including but not limited to computers, printers, fax, telephone, nurse call system. May daily interact with persons under stress, having complex complaints, and/or with whom there is a need to respond to questions, problems, or gain cooperation. Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by the Saunders Method (very heavy).
