Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8a-5p

POSITION SUMMARY 

Provides line management for assigned areas/departments. Facilitates inter and intradepartmental communication and collaboration. Ensures the delivery of quality patient care. Ensures Department meets regulatory/accreditation standards. Manages department within established budgetary parameters. Represents the hospital in various local, state, and regional activities. May function as Nurse Administrator in the absence of the Nurse Administrator and Associate Nursing Administrator. Maintains an atmosphere, which ensures South Georgia Medical Center’s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies and standards are consistently met. Functions as relief Administrative Coordinator. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Current RN license in State of Georgia. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field required; Master’s Degree in nursing or related field strongly preferred. 
  • Current CPR certification. 
  • Certification preferred in appropriately specialty. 
  • Six (6) years of experience in nursing, including supervisory/leadership experience required. 
  • Excellent ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of diverse individuals and groups both internal and external to organization. 
  • Ability to lead and develop others individually and as a team, and to be an effective team member. 
  • Ability to adapt to new situations, set priorities, and utilize problem-solving techniques with minimal direction and appropriate collaboration.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal, written and behavioral communication skills. 
  • Demonstrates current knowledge of patient care, leadership, and management principles. 
  • Ability to operate various equipment (e.g, office, telecommunications, etc.) 
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION 

Works primarily in hospital setting, primarily daytime hours with flexibility required for meeting schedules, rounds, travel, etc. Moderate amount of time in office setting or meetings with extended periods of sitting, alternating with moderate amounts of time in patient care areas. Walking, standing, and sitting. Lifting is occasionally in excess of 50lbs. May occasionally require long, irregular or flexible work hours. Likely to be exposed to blood/body fluids, including infectious diseases. Considerable mental effort to assess, plan and make or recommend decisions in complex environment. Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by the Saunders Method (very heavy).
