Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8

POSITION SUMMARY 

Performs a variety of duties in obtaining cardiac ultrasound imaging. Maintains standards of quality; assists in monitoring and reporting Q.A. activities in department as necessary. Responsible for coordinating procedures and ordering supplies. Acts as department technical liaison to management – assists with evaluating new equipment, procedures, and protocols; communicates problems with Echo equipment to appropriate repair person.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

● Must be a high school graduate. Additional formal training and education is required. Must be eligible for one of the following credentials: (Registry status preferred). ⚬ RCVT: (Registered cardiovascular technician); non-invasive registry. ⚬ RDCS: (Registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer). 

● Current CPR certification is mandatory. Must be experienced and competent in all cardiac ultrasound imaging procedures. 

● Must pursue appropriate examinations for registry status within 2 years of hiring. 

● Must maintain registry status, once achieved, by meeting mandatory continuing education requirements. 

● Must continually strive to further professional knowledge and use this as a basis for making quality decisions when imaging. 

● Considerable and frequent mental effort required. Ability to organize and manage in a high stress environment. 

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

 Comfortable working conditions, subject to irregular schedules, including weekends, on-call; subjected to high levels of stress. Work may require exposure to communicable disease. Duties require considerable eye strain and arm motion. Considerable sitting, standing, stooping, bending, lifting (in excess of 50 pounds), pushing (wheelchairs, stretchers, 800 # ultrasound machines).
