POSITION SUMMARY 

The Director of Hospital Physician Operations, under the direction of the Vice President, Physician Network, is responsible for the oversight of all administrative aspects of employed and contracted physicians and their practices. Working closely with the Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Medical Officer, the Director of Hospital Physician Operations is responsible for maximizing practice profitability, financial growth, patient satisfaction, and physician/contract retention. Works closely with Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Medical Officer. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

Bachelor’s degree or 5 years Physician Practice Management or Hospital Operations and Healthcare Administration experience required. Experience developing and managing healthcare practices and a working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement. Builds collaborative, positive working relationships with all levels of the hospital organization. Develops effective medical staff relationships in support of SGMC mission, vision, and strategic plan. Assures employee and contract physician compliance by delivering quality services and meeting all contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the management and performance of personnel within assigned operations in a manner consistent with SGMC hospital and personnel policies and federal employment laws. 

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION 

Indoors, subjected to long, irregular hours with constant “on call” status. Duties require considerable sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting (in excess of 50 pounds). Extreme mental effort required with ability to assess and make decisions in abbreviated time frames. Ability to manage in a confined high stress environment.
