Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8a-4:30p

POSITION SUMMARY 

  • Performs a variety of scintigraphic procedures using gamma cameras and other scintillation devices. 
  • Performs advanced level of scintigraphic procedures, such as, Nuclear Cardiology and WBC labeling techniques. 
  • Performs a variety of scintigraphic procedures using the PET/CT scanner, gamma cameras and other scintillation devices. 
  • Performs the advanced level of scintigraphic procedures, such as, PET/CT imaging. 
  • Administers radioactive substances to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic work up safely uses radioactive materials and keeps contamination at a minimum. 
  • Measures and verifies radiopharmaceutical dose Performs quality control as required. 
  • Assists in QA/PI activities as required. Performs a variety of duties in administering radioactive substances. 
  • Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for administration to patients requiring scanning. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine—ARRT OR Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Certification Board—NMTCB. 
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Staff Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred. 
  • Has ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of personnel at all levels within and external to organization. Ability to develop and grow a competent, caring team. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly with, and care for, a diverse population of patients/family units of all ages, variety of cultures, etc. 
  • Flexible in work schedule, assignments and work load. 
  • Ability to document clinical information required quality control values, etc. 
  • Ability to interpret the policies and procedures of South Georgia Medical Center, regulatory agencies’ standards and rules, reimbursement rules, etc. 
  • Strong clinical skills. 

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION 

Duties require considerable sitting, standing, stooping bending, lifting (in excess of 50 pounds), pushing objects (wheelchairs, stretchers). Comfortable conditions, subject to irregular schedules, including weekends, exposed to high levels of stress. Work may require exposure to communicable diseases.
