POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of the Endocrinology and Diabetes program of SGMC Health under the direction of the Medical Director of the SGMC Endocrinology and Diabetes Center is responsible for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the program in alignment with the SGMC Health mission. This role focuses on standardizing systems, identifying efficiencies, and integrating performance improvement strategies to support the program. This position will act as the main point of contact for Inpatient clinical operations, ensuring patient satisfaction, education, and patient referral to the Center. This position develops and executes all activities related to Endocrinology and Diabetes services throughout the SGMC Health system to ensure excellent quality of care, patient safety, and fiscal responsibility of the program, while satisfying all regulatory guidelines. For purposes of Endocrinology and Diabetes Metabolic accreditation, this person serves as the Endocrinology and Diabetes Manager resource for SGMC Health’s program.
EDUCATION
3 years nursing experience with demonstrated competence in medical/surgical/procedural patient care.

Works directly with the Medical Director of the SGMC Health Diabetes Center. Assist in program development, managing the accreditation process, ensuring continuous compliance with ACE and ADA Standards, maintaining relevant pathways and protocols, patient education, monitoring outcomes data and collection, quality improvement initiatives, and education of relevant staff with a focus on appropriate treatment and patient safety. Supports the development of written protocols and education of nursing staff detailing the rapid communication and basic response to critical patient findings that are specifically required to minimize delays in the diagnosis and treatment of serious adverse events.

Working conditions include considerable time walking, bending, stretching, and standing. Close contact with the people which can include exposure to infectious diseases, potentially harmful or hazardous drugs and other substances.
