Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Compensation Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development, maintenance, and administration of new and revised employee compensation programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with the organization's goals and competitive practices. The Compensation Specialist is responsible for ensuring that through audits, legal reports and personal interactions, the organization’s compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with organization-wide policies and government regulations. Works closely with HR Operations Manager, and HR leadership team to ensure that compensation programs remain competitive and conform to the current compensation and rewards strategy. Serves as escalation point for compensation issues and concerns. Stays current with industry trends and standards to make well-informed recommendations for changes/improvement. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred. 
EXPERIENCE 

Three years of experience in compensation or human resources preferred. Combination of relevant experience/education will be considered. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Working knowledge of Windows, word processing, and spreadsheet design. 
  • Strong organizational ability, with well-developed oral and written communication skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and analytical skills required. 
  • Effective project management skills. 
  • Exhibits independent decision making, manages stress appropriately, and works well with others; possessing tact and diplomacy while communicating with employees at all levels. 
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks and deadlines, and solves challenging problems in a fast-paced environment while working collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Strong ability to lead, influence and negotiate. 
  • Ability to speak and present information in large groups including leadership. 
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use HRIS systems and carrier/vendor administrative websites. 
Preferred Qualifications 

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred. 

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION 

Substantial sitting and walking. Moderate standing. Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds). At times may be subject to high levels of stress and managing competing priorities. Requires considerable mental effort and logical thought processing.
