POSITION SUMMARY
The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Transitional Year Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Transitional Year Residency Program. This role involves coordinating all activities related to the program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and providing support to residents and faculty. The Coordinator will work closely with the Program Director and other GME staff to maintain a high standard of educational excellence.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to organize information. Ability to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality. Working knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to make decisions independently or to escalate issues as needed.
EDUCATION
Minimum of 3-5 years of office administration experience, preferably in a healthcare and/or education setting.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in graduate medical education administration or a similar role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with residency management software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work. Knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards and requirements.

Office setting. Safe working environment, possibility of irregular work hours upon request. Perhaps some discomfort due to noise and crowded conditions. A moderate amount of stress at times. Involves sitting, standing, and bending. Ability to use sound judgment and initiative when dealing with stressful situations.
