Schedule: Full Time, 8HR Evening Shift, 3pm to 11pm

POSITION SUMMARY 

This key organizational position creates and maintains a living environment that displays courtesy and respect for each resident while providing personal care and assisting with all activities of daily living. Performs duties in a manner that enhances the resident’s dignity, self-esteem, mental and physical well being. Provides care that is responsive to the needs of the residents. Provides quality care in compliance with all state and regulatory statutes. Provides responsive and compassionate care which is individualized for each resident. Fulfills responsibility to the organization by adhering to its philosophy and general policies. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. 
  • CPR & First Aid certification required. 
  • Recent (within last six (6) months) experience in Long Term Care Setting is preferred. 
  • Ability to read, write, perform simple calculations, and follow written and verbal instructions. 
  • Able to communicate clearly with, and care for a variety of people 
  • Flexible in scheduling and assignments. 
  • Evidence of personal health and hygiene. 
  • Annual skills assessment and training. 
  • Ability to operate IPADS/medication tablets, telephone, intercom system, calculator, and beeper. 
  • Ability to recognize and report changes in patient condition. 
  • 16 Hours In-service Training required by the Department of Community Health.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION 

Works primarily in long-term care setting. Requires considerable standing, mental effort, stooping, bending, lifting (in excess of fifty (100) lbs.), pushing objects (carts, beds, and wheelchairs). Likely to be exposed to blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases. May rarely require accompanying and assisting with patient transport to another facility. Uses medical, office equipment, and telecommunicates devices on a regular basis (e.g., , fax, computer, and pagers). Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by the Saunders Method (very heavy).
