Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8.00
POSITION SUMMARY
Monitors and supports patient care and promotes optimal patient outcomes.
Develops, evaluates, and revises standards and policies and procedures for stroke program.
Collaborates with physicians, nurses and other healthcare provides to optimize patient outcomes.
Serves as resource to resolve issues/problems, and to facilitate staff competency.
Provides education and consultation services for care of the stroke patient.
Performs/assists with clinical nursing research as appropriate.
Collaborates with case coordinators to achieve mutual goals.
Maintains responsibility for the development, implementation and maintenance of the stroke program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education, licensure, and certification: Current RN license in the State of Georgia.
Minimum Education required: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Stroke Certified Registered Nurse certification attained within 2 years.
Current CPR certification required.
Preferred Experience: Three years recent acute care clinical experience, two years of acute stroke care clinical experience plus teaching experience in the clinical and/or community setting preferred.
Flexible in work schedule, assignments, workloads, setting priorities and utilizing problem solving techniques.
Ability to formulate letters, memos, document clinical information, create policies and procedures, and provide learning opportunities.
Ability to analyze regulations, standards, clinical issues, and patient outcomes.
Excellent verbal, written, and behavioral communication skills.
Ability to assess learning/training needs of healthcare personnel.
Ability to conduct educational programs for a wide range of healthcare personnel.
Ability to plan education programs based on objectives and evaluate effectiveness of programs.
Utilize variety of office, educational, clinical and non-clinical equipment.
