POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Associate is responsible for performing the day-to-day operation of the Hospice Re-sale; Consignment store - The Tree House, and The Tree House donation center. Duties include but are not limited to: continuing set up of store facility including décor and inventory, ongoing collection of inventory, pricing and sales, disbursement of dated inventory, advertisement, working with the store manager and store volunteers to assist with store operations, cash and credit card transactions, daily accounting of cash flow, deposits and security of store assets. This includes, but is not limited to, offloading, put away, stocking, selecting, and replenishment of donated items and furniture, including regular and sustained periods of physical exertion requiring ability to lift, carry and position objects and furniture weighing up to 50-75 pounds using proper body mechanics. The Store associate interacts with customers in a friendly and helpful manner to promote good customer service. Reports to the Store Manager and/or designee on a regular and as requested basis. The sales associate will be responsible for operating a company vehicle in order to receive and pick up donor’s items and furniture. The sales associate is also responsible for working in the donation center (conducting inventory, receiving donations, organizing donations, etc. ). 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 High school diploma preferred. Regular and sustained periods of physical exertion requiring ability to lift, carry and position objects and furniture weighing up to 50-75 pounds using proper body mechanics. Preferred previous experience in retail sales/public relations and advertisement. Must possess skills and knowledge of retail operation, sales, basic accounting to correctly handle money, make deposits and maintain records, along with unquestionable integrity. Must possess strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and handle pressure. Requires basic knowledge of computer and office machinery with ability to generate, analyze, and interpret general business reports. Demonstrated ability to respond well to supervision and work well as a team member and/or independently when required. Must be able to relate to and work with persons of diverse cultural backgrounds and lifestyles. Must have current Georgia driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and criminal background check.

WORKING CONDITIONS- ADA INFORMATION: 

Retail store environment. Mental dexterity and patience essential for contact with the general public. Excellent listening and speaking skills along with a friendly attitude is required. Duties include considerable physical effort. Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50-75 pounds, sit, bend, stand for periods of time, climb step ladder. Must be able to operate office equipment to include telephone, FAX, copier, computer, cash register and adding machine. Travel within service area for merchandise pick up may be required.
